It's that time of the year again--ghosts and goblins, witches and warlocks unite! Hallow's End hits Azeroth today!
Hallow's End is an annual Halloween-inspired seasonal event that takes place during the latter half of October.
When the decorations of Hallow's End light up Azeroth's cities, you know there's mischief afoot! Seek special vendors in Orgrimmar or Ironforge and get your hands on treats! Aid a sick orphan in a little trick-or-treating! Darkcaller Yanka, attending the Forsaken's Wickerman Festival, and Sergeant Hartman of Southshore are seeking your aid in keeping the enemy out of their holiday affairs - are you up to the challenge?
Hallow's End marks the day the group of undead, who would later be known as the Forsaken, broke free of the Lich King's dominance and once again regained their free will. They celebrate this occasion by setting fire to a wickerman after a short speech from Sylvanas herself and smearing the ashes across their faces.
There are three major sources of fun, seasonal items with which you can celebrate Hallow's End:
Treat Bags, Crudely Wrapped Gifts, and the Headless Horseman.
A Crudely Wrapped Gift can be obtained after protecting a low level Alliance (Goldshire, Kharanos, or Azure Watch) or Horde (Razor Hill, Falconwing Square, or Brill) village from the Shade of the Horseman. The matrons located in these villages will ask for your aid in putting out fires in local buildings. When the Shade of the Horseman has been defeated, a large Jack-o-Lantern will appear on the ground that gives the quest Smash the Pumpkin (Alliance) which can be turned in at the nearby Matron. The Matron will reward you with a sum of gold and a Crudely Wrapped Gift, which can contain candy, masks, or even riding brooms!
The Headless Horseman is a level 80 boss that players can queue up for using the Dungeon Finder tool. The boss will then spawn in the Graveyard of Scarlet Monastery. This encounter can be completed easily by a decently-geared 5-man of level 80 players!
